St Peter's is a Catholic Parish serving Ludlow and the surrounding rural community and forms part of Local Pastoral Area 3 in the Diocese of Shrewsbury

This church is a 20th century creation, built in 1936. The architect was Giuseppe Rinvolucri, an Italian from Piedmont who came to Wales after World War I,

settled in Conwy and designed several Catholic churches in Wales and England. It was built in reinforced concrete faced with stone and has Byzantine and Romanesque influences.
